Twin Cities Dial A Ride

Twin Cities Area Transportation Authority (TCATA), or Benton Harbor Dial-A-Ride is a small urban/rural transit provider that provides curb to curb service and offers fixed route service to people in the City of Benton Harbor,  Benton Charter Township, City of St. Joseph, and St. Joseph Charter Township, and Royalton Township.  More... 

 

Curb to Curb Service:

Days/Hours of Operation:

M-F 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
SAT 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Same day curb-to-curb service is offered for riders with disabilities and people who do not have access to fixed route services. Fares range from $2.00 - $4.00 for a one way trip.  Fare is reduced for seniors and people with disabilities.

Fixed Routes (Dollar Ride)

Days/Hours of Operation

M-F 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
SAT 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. 

Fixed route service offers a significant cost savings over Dial a Ride curb-curb service - the ride only costs $1 each way (50 cents for seniors and persons with disabilities)!

It is recommended you arrive at the bus stop 5-10 minutes early to ensure you do not miss the bus.  Times may vary do to traffic. Drivers may stop for passengers who flag down the bus. 

Red Route 

The Red Route makes a one-hour loop through Benton Harbor, St. Joseph, St. Joseph Township, and Stevensville.  Hours for the Red Route are 6am to 10pm Monday through Friday and 8am to 10pm Saturday.

Blue Route Request A Stop Feature

Passengers have the option to be dropped off or picked up at several different points in between the stops. To be dropped off let the driver know the location you need to be dropped off at as you are boarding the bus. To be picked up at locations in between stops you must call in to request a pickup. This service is available on a time permitting basis and may not be available during peak service times of the day.  

 

Blue Route

The Blue Route, formerly known as "The Special" or the "Line Haul" route has been operated by the Twin Cities Area Transit Authority for three years.  It makes a one-hour loop through Benton Harbor and the Benton Township (Fairplain) retail area. The Blue Route runs twice an hour, servicing some locations four times an hour.


Discounted Punch Cards

Punch cards are available for both Dial-A-Ride curb to curb service and Dollar Ride fixed route service.  

A $12 reduced fare card is available for the seniors and individuals with disabilities, as well as a $20 fare card for regular passengers. Twin Cities Dial-A-Ride  individuals to ride the Dollar Ride buses free to the Dial-A-Ride offices to purchase the punch card!
